2020 Tapestry No. 1029
Our signature red blend, this wine is made from 75% Sangiovese, 20% Montepulciano, and 5% Petit Verdot. This is a versatile wine that is pleasing to a variety of palates, from new red wine drinkers to those of us who have drinking them for years. There is a nice smoky character to this wine that comes through on the aromas and on the palate, with subtle flavors of plum on the finish. Surprisingly light on the body, this wine is an excellent partner to roasted meats and Italian dishes.

Production notes
The Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and Petit Verdot grapes were harvested and processed separately. All were hand harvested and sorted in the field to remove unripe fruit and any foreign materials that could possibly affect the wine. In the winery we de-stem the grapes from the cluster and do a final hand sorting to ensure that only the best grapes are left for processing. Each varietal was then put into its own tank and left to “cold soak” at about 42°F for about two days before we began fermentation.

All of the wines were aged in both French and American oak barrels for about 13 months, and blended together just prior to bottling. This blend has a light body reminiscent of a Pinot Noir, but with a smoky finish and rounded tannins that pairs well with grilled meats and vegetables, lamb, and mushroom lasagna.
