2021 Midnight Gold
Our signature white, this wine is 100% Traminette but unlike any we have seen or tasted before! Medium body with soft tannins and flavors of meyer lemon up front, with medium oak at the mid-palate and a smooth creamy finish. This wine is an excellent partner to seafood (especially shellfish like a shrimp scampi), pumpkin ravioli, and Asian stir fry.
Tasting notes

Production notes
The Traminette grapes were hand harvested and sorted in the field to remove unripe fruit and any foreign materials that could possibly affect the wine. In the winery we de-stem the grapes from the cluster and do a final hand sorting to ensure that only the best grapes are left for processing.
We started out using an "orange style" of production for this wine, meaning that we fermented the grapes on-skin for about 30 days in the same way that we do for a red wine. This is what gives us the soft tannins at the front end of this wine. All of the wine was then placed into American oak barrels where they were aged for 18 months, where the wines went through malolactic fermentation to produce the smooth creamy finish.

We've always thought that our Traminette grapes were so versatile and we have enjoyed all of the styles of wines that we have produced from them over the years. Originally this area only saw Traminette as a blending grape, but over the years we have seen more vineyards letting this hybrid grape stand on its own and to show what a wonderful wine it can produce. This is the second vintage of our "orange style" Midnight Gold, but the first one that we have released commercially.
The combination of fermenting on-skin, and then barrel aging the wine, produces a very unique white wine that is reminiscent of a barrel chardonay that doesn't overwhelming your palate with oak.
