2022 Tapestry No. 1029
Our signature red blend is a versatile wine that is pleasing to a variety of palates, from new red wine drinkers to those of us who have drinking them for years. Medium body with medium tannins give this wine a very approachable character. This is a flavorful red wine that finishes with earthy characteristics, making this wine an excellent partner to roasted meats and paired with grilled fish.

Production notes
The Corot Noir and Montepulciano grapes were harvested and processed separately. All were hand harvested and sorted in the field to remove unripe fruit and any foreign materials that could possibly affect the wine. In the winery we de-stem the grapes from the cluster and do a final hand sorting to ensure that only the best grapes are left for processing. Each varietal was then put into its own tank and left to “cold soak” at about 42°F for about four days before we began fermentation.
After primary fermentation was completed each of the wines were transferred to both French and American oak barrels for about 16 months. We blended the two varietals together just prior to bottling.

Corot Noir is a hybrid that was developed to have characteristics similar to a Pinot Noir, so when we chose our yeast for this varietal we went with a strain that was typically used in France for these grapes. This is what gives us the red fruit character of the wine, and helps to develop the medium body and tannic structure of the wine. The Montepulciano gives us the earthy complexity on the finish of the wine, and overall the smoothness that we want for the blend.
